Newsletter January 2009

Welcome to the first quarterly newsletter from Jamie Peloquin Design. We have some exciting things happening and some great announcements to recap from 2008.

2008 brought us some great new clients and projects along with them: Media Workshops International, CashStar, Mitchell Ledge Farm, Maine Mead Works, On Target Utility Services, Cirpoint Solutions and Council of American Jewish Museums.

SiteKeeper, our home-grown content management system, turned version 5 in 2008, and we continue to streamline, stabilize and enhance it. This past year we added a WYSIWYG content editor, file and image manager, AJAX integration, Google Maps and vCard support.

2009 started off with a bang, launching Aurora Novus and Maine Mead Works in the first two weeks! Aurora Novus is a new venture by Aurora Photos focusing on online storytelling through video and photography. This was also our first venture into using Amazon’s S3 Simple Storage Service, serving up the videos for Aurora Novus. Maine Mead Works uses a unique, efficient and environmentally friendly fermenting process, along with local ingredients to produce a truly great Mead (honey wine).

We have some great projects and plans ahead of us for this year, and as they get released, you’ll hear about them.

Rates & Policies Changes

2009 also brings some unfortunate, but necessary changes in rates and policies. We are increasing our base to $85/hour in order to keep up with rising costs of keeping Jamie Peloquin Design running. We have also had to make some policy changes for 2009. Estimated projects will be billed monthly after the initial downpayment is exhausted, instead of by milestones. These new rate and policy changes take affect immediately for new clients and February 1, 2009 for existing clients. This will not affect any current estimates or projects alredy underway. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please give us a call (207) 449-1841.
